He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrwin Tompkins and Betty Tompkins; his brother Jack Tompkins; and his siblings-in-law, Virginia Lynch, David Lawry and John Lawry.
He is survived by: his family Sandra; his wife Sandra Tompkins; his children, Daniel Tompkins (Charity) of Rio, Wisconsin and Darcy Steinhorst (Brandon) of Poynette, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Danielle (Matthew Gaston), Charlotte, Samantha Tompkins, Brooke, Maggie and Sawyer Steinhorst; his siblings, Dave Tompkins, Joe Tompkins (Renee) and Deb Holmes; and his siblings-in-law, Marianne McMillan (James), Kris-Anne Tompkins, Elaine Lawry and Jim Lawry (Donna). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Poynette Presbyterian Church (224 N Main St, Poynette, WI 53955). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the family, who will direct them to Poynette Presbyterian Church (https://www.poynettepresbyterian.org) or the Mercer Area Sno-Goers.
