She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Neisius and Leona Neisius (White); her husband Allen T. Check; her parents-in-law, John Rand and Julia Check; her granddaughter Melissa Cooley; her brother Gary Neisius; her stepsister Mary Lou Kavon; and her son-in-law Bill Lynch.

She is survived by: her children, Sue Lynch, Mike Check (Barb), Cindy Spiker (Louis), Nancy Gher (Bill), Denise Vinopal (Dan), Ron Check, Cathy Jerrett (Dean) and Dan Check (Gidget); her sisters, Lois Balk and Rita "Pat" Geiwitz; her half-sisters, Luann Chambers and Mary Neisius; and her stepbrothers, Jerry and Ken Kavon. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rural Prairie du Chien Volunteer Fire Department.
