She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Check and Orpha Check (Mindham); her siblings, Harold, Thomas Check (Loretta), Irene Rau (Clarence) and Mildred Lessard (Walt); and her son-in-law David Jensen.
She is survived by: her husband John Gillitzer; her children, Russell (Sheila), Phyllis Wesener (Dave), Joseph (Terese), Robert, Donna Gillitzer, Mary Stoeffler (Kenneth), Janet Nelson (Brian), Diane Koenig (Jon) and Elaine Jensen; her sisters, Catherine Forst and Marilyn Pitzer (Art); and her brother-in-law Roger Gillitzer (Janice). She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Bridgeport Fire Dept. and the Auxiliary or Crossing Rivers Hospice.
