He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman J. Howe and Eliese B. Howe; his wife Bernice Benson; his brother Lyman J. II; and his children, Elisa Ann and Bruce.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Howe (Joan) of Prairie, Chien, Keith Howe of Cleveland, Dean Howe of New York City and Rita Cooper (Mark) of Eden Prairie, Minn.; his daughter-in-law Mary Mason; his grandchildren, Shelly and Justin Howe; his children, Benjamin, Gena Howe, Lauren, Claire Cooper, Elliot, Genevieve, Alex Howe, McKenna and Addi Kinley; Jim and John Kinley. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Prairie du Chien Historical Society or Crossing Rivers Hospice are preferred.
