He is survived by: his children, Linda Lichtenberg (Gordon) of Princeton, Jeff Benike (Lynette) of Campbellsport, Mark Benike (Lou Ann) of Campbellsport, Gail Schmitt (Gerry) of Montello, Scott Benike of Campbellsport and Jim Benike (Sandy) of Eden; his grandchildren, Brian Lichtenberg (Lynnell) of Princeton, Kevin Lichtenberg (Megan) of Montello, Richard Benike of Kewaskum, Michael Benike (Kelly) of Campbellsport, Tim Benike (Lacey) of Fond du Lac, Tom Benike (Megan) of Bellevue, Chris Benike (Steph) of Eden, Bob Benike (Rachel) of Campbellsport, Peter Halfmann (Spencer) of Madison, Andrew Schmitt of Wauwatosa, Steve Schmitt (Megan) of Dodgeville, Dan Schmitt (Jessica) of Montello, Katie Gruber (Andy) of Campbellsport, Sarah Immel (Luke) of Eden, Dakota Benike of Campbellsport, Kassie Benike of Campbellsport, Kallie Cusack (Nick) of Jenison, MI and Kelsie Herriges (Brian) of Campbellsport; and his siblings-in-law, Marie and Jack Lemke of West Bend. He is also survived by 37 great grandchildren; 2 great – great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Mecan River Outfitters and Lodge.
