He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip David and Marion Nancy Whitman (Storrs); and his son Chad. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Whitman; his children, Charles Whitman Jr. of Romance, AR, Kelly Jean Chrisman (Wayne), Lysabeth Rose Edwards, Myles T. Joseph Whitman and Chelsey Lynn Muse (James) of Romance, AR; his stepchildren, Gregory Thompson, Tina Thompson and Holly Gildemeister (Joshua); and his siblings, Jamie Whitman (Mark) of Mystic, CT, Carl Kirstein of Simpsonville, SC, Sharon Hall of Lakewood, CO, Clifford Whitman (Susan) of Brooker, FL, Adelaide Whitman of Torrington, CT, Adrian Whitman of Colchester, CT, Evelyn Tatham (Mark) of Milford, NH and Kitaluna Whitman of Dunedin, FL. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
