He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul and Elsie; and his stepmother Mary Petersen. He is survived by: his wife Linda Caynak; his sister Paulette MacGill (Ken); his siblings-in-law, Joann Beauchamp (Mike), Sue Barrows and David Caynak; and his cousin J. D. Culea (Shelly). He is also survived by other relatives and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin or to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer have been suggested.
