He is survived by: his wife Kim; his children, Becky Spanke (Brian) and Nick Simon (Anita); his grandchildren, Delaney and Bennett Spanke; his siblings, Mary Bielefeldt, Gerald Simon (Shirley), Terry Metzger, Cathy Adamczyk (Don), Tom Simon (Kathy), Bea Pahl (Doug), Ed Simon (Joan), Julie Simon, Greg Simon (Lyn) and Chris Simon (Mary); and his mother-in-law Jan Haumersen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials to one of Carl's favorite places to volunteer "Evergreen Academy" has been suggested.
