She was predeceased by: her parents, Rosie Stovall and Louis Dupree; her husband Jessie Phifer; her siblings, Sarah Lane, Mary Morton, Marie Lee and Willie Dupree; her son Johnny Washington; her son-in-law Ira Cribbs; her stepdaughter Margaret Hardaway; and her grandchildren, Lahtisea Phifer and Ira Keith Cribbs.
She is survived by: her children, Matilda Cribbs, Linda Jones (OB), Jessie Phifer Jr., Clairista Phifer, Kathleen Phifer, Sarah Franklin (Mark), Rosie Thomas (George) and Reginal Phifer (Margo); her daughter-in-law Gloria Washington; her daughters, Nancy McDougal, Wanda Shaw and Sue Brown; her grandchildren, Kathyrn Cribbs, Kelvin Cribbs, Dorothy Brown, Johnny Washington Jr., Obadiah Washington, Keon Washington (Akia), Octavia Hardaway of Ohio, Milton Hardaway of Ohio, Felicia Jones, Anthony Jones (Jessica), Christopher Phifer (Carissa), Jonathan Phifer, Tamara Franklin, Travian Franklin (Antoinette), Timothy Franklin, LaChell Thomas, Gisel Thomas, Shanell Thomas, Reginald Phifer II, Rheathia Phifer and Lauryn Phifer; and her nieces and nephews, Nell Thomas of Tennessee, Francis Malone of Mississippi, Ruth Lewis of Rhode Island, Wilma Dupree-Robinson of Texas, John Davis Lane of Illinois and James Dupree of Tennessee. She is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
