Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Douglas touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin and Norma; and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his wife Susan M. Wiechmann; and his children, Ann Neerdaels (Steve), Mark Sorenson (Kim) and Greta Schumacher (Bill). He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the CDT Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home (803 Main St, Racine, WI 53403). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In honor of Doug's interests, memorials to Racine Habitat for Humanity and Rawhide Youth Services-New London have been suggested by the family.
