He was predeceased by: his wife Jacquiline Hood (Fechner); his parents, James Coy and Georgia Hood; and his siblings, William C. Hood, James C. Hood, Marion Langlois and Helen "Honni" Tiedemann.
He is survived by: his daughters, Katherine "Katie" Hood, Marion Rauch (Craig) and Helen "Nellie" Ludwig (Tom); his grandchildren, Abigail "Abby" Hood (Patrick Patterson), Margaret "Meg" Quinn (Brendan) and Coy Ludwig; his great grandchildren, Henry Patterson, Lorelei Patterson and Emerson Quinn; and his brother-in-law Peter Tiedemann. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
