He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred and Emma. He is survived by: his wife Sally Wridt; his daughters, Susan Kortendick (Brian) and Karen Schmit (Nick); his granddaughters, Hannah and Eliana Kortendick; his stepgrandsons, Nick Schmit and Alex Alberghetti-Schmit; his brother-in-law Alex Sabo (Beth); his sibling's children, Michael Wridt (Lisa), Mark Wridt and Pamela Wridt (Robert Sauve); and his friend Dan Garamone. He is also survived by extended family and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Purath Strand Funeral Home (3915 Douglas Ave, Racine, WI 53402). A memorial service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
