She was predeceased by: her parents, John Meekma and Alta Meekma; her husband John Richard Hawes, Sr. (Sadly); her siblings, Betty Simonsen (Howard), Jack (Eileen) and Robert Meekma (Sally); her siblings-in-law, Mary Lou (Delbert) and George Etlichter; her grandson James Lucas; and her great grandchild Grayce Elizabeth Brouwers.
She is survived by: her children, Laurie Lucas (Greg) of Spring Hill, Carol Hawes (Pat Vandenberg) of Mount Pleasant, John Jr. Hawes (Vicki) of LaCrosse and David Hawes (Linda) of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Ric Lucas (Marla), Bryan (Katie), Paul Brouwers (Shelby), Jacob (Katie), Mitchell (Abbey), Mason Hawes, Jennifer Kiesler (Chris), Carly, Michael (Caitlin), Tara Hawes and John Upchurch (Amy); her great grandchildren, Mason, McKenzie Lucas, Jack (Hannah), Nate, Ellie Brouwers of Emma, AJ, Aubri Brouwers, Jasper, Eden, Noah Hawes, Gilbert Hawes, Madison, Hallie Kiesler, Johanna, Liam Upchurch, Madeleine and Isabel Mcintosh; her great great grandchild John Bradley Brouwers; her sister-in-law Delores Etlichter; and her friend Ken Bressett. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
