He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Emery Gilbert and Helen Ann Gilbert (Callahan); and his sister Ginny Herkert. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gilbert; his sons, Jim Gilbert (Pat), Dan Gilbert (Kay) and Tim Gilbert (Nicole); his stepson Scott Shaffer (Heather); his grandchildren, Nate Gilbert (Lindsey), Kelly Gilbert (Paige), Kyle Gilbert (Haley), Colin Gilbert (Clare), Grace Gilbert, Cora Gilbert and Ginger Gilbert; and his great grandchild Owen Gilbert.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Rita Catholic Church (4339 Douglas Ave, Racine, WI 53402). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Rita's Church or St. Monica's Memory Care.
