He was predeceased by: his parents, Meliton Mata, and Marie Mata, Sr.; his son Jesse Mata, Jr.; his granddaughters, Jaeda Mata and Nicole Mata; his siblings, Henry Mata (Shirley), Meliton Mata, Jr. and Socorro Mata; his siblings-in-law, Lonnie McLain, Reyes Gonzales (Linda), Raul Gonzales, Roberto Gonzales and Delma Vieyra (Isidro); Reyes and Santos.
He is survived by: his wife Lydia; his sons, Juan Mata and Joaquin Mata; his daughter-in-law Rebecca Becker (Rick); his grandchildren, Brandon, Jescenia, Aliyia, Arianna Mata, Anthony Michael Coca, Juan Raul Gonzales-Mata and Xavier Reyes Gonzales-Mata; his great grandchildren, Cristiana, Valentino, Gabrielle and Sophia Mata; his siblings, Lupe Sosa (Henry), Juanita Mata, Javier "Chico" Mata (Gloria) and Antonio Mata (Pauline); and his siblings-in-law, Adela Roby, Amada DelBosque (Hector), Rudy "Pecos" Gonzales (Christina), Rogelio Gonzales (Lisa), Ramona "Baby" Gonzales and Caroline Mata. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and an extensive circle of friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home (4600 County Line Rd, Mt Pleasant, WI 53403). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
