We announce the death of Jonathan J. Hancock (Racine, Wisconsin), who passed away on October 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Jonathan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Jonathan will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Jonathan will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Jonathan’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Valerie. He is survived by: his wife Joan E. Petersen; his sons, Jason Hancock of Mequon and Joshua Hancock (Karen) of Tucson, AZ; his brother Daniel Hancock (Jackie Peterson); and his sister-in-law Sheila Wier (John Daniel). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home (803 Main St, Racine, WI 53403). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
