He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Schmidt and Margaret Schmidt; and his mother-in-law Bonnie Houdek. He is survived by: his wife Corene Lawson; his daughter Charra Schmidt (Ryan Vesnefsky); his father-in-law Bert Houdek; and his sisters-in-law, Cindy Richter (Brian), Andrea Haney (Mike) and Tracy Houdek. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.
