She was predeceased by: her parents, Dempsey and Alpha; her sons, John and James; and her siblings, Inez Rooney and Larry McElvain.
She is survived by: her husband Lewis G. Schowalter; her children, Joan Vanderwerff (Carl) and Jeff Schowalter; her daughters-in-law, Janelle Schowalter and Clarisse Schowalter; her grandchildren, Adam, Krista, Nicholas Vanderwerff, Danielle Zimmer (Peter), Paul Schowalter, Jacob Schowalter, Josiah, Jessica and Joshua Savoie; her great grandchildren, Vincent, Devin and Kynsleigh; and her sister Marcia Coyne. She is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends.
