He was predeceased by: his parents, Reinhardt and Meta; his sisters, Mary Fetzer and Sue Stratman; and his siblings-in-law, Harold "Butch" Winterle, Bud, Marlene Winterle, Clariss Winterle, Cathy Winterle and Betty Winterle.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Todd Merrill (Patty), Wendy Burkinshaw (Mark) and Holly Coe (Jason); his grandchildren, Jessica, Thomas Merrill, Andrew, Sarah Burkinshaw, Corbin and Spencer Coe; his siblings, Larry Merrill (Karen), John Merrill (Barb), Pat Rock (Gary) and Kathy Merrill; and his siblings-in-law, Rich Winterle, Don Winterle, Bob Winterle (Birgit), Larry Winterle, Wally Winterle and Jim Stratman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Memorials to the Grace Lutheran Church Elevator Fund or Racine Lutheran High School have been suggested.
