He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Ortiz and Teresa Ortiz; his son Reynoldo "Rey" Ortiz; and his siblings, Jesus A. Ortiz (Irene), Francisco Ortiz (Maria) and Esperanza Gomez (Adan).
He is survived by: his former wife Francisca Ortiz; his children, Rebecca Ortiz, Ricardo "Richard" Ortiz, Jr., Rolando Ortiz and Rosendo "Chendo" Ortiz (Dawn); his grandchildren, Renny Garcia (Carrie), Latasha High, Vanessa Ramos (Dominque), Alicia Ortiz (Geno), Geno, Jessica Ortiz (Jamie) and Christina Garcia (A. J.); his great grandchildren, Dasani Driver, Dasario Driver, Tatiana Ortiz, Serenity Jones, Nevaeh Dumas, Selena Cruz, Sonya Cruz, Ni'ah Dumas and Andrew Buckley; and his sisters, Adela Esperza (Valente) and Doris Gonzales (Jesus).
