He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl R and Francis G; his wife Shirley J. Nielsen; his son Steven R. Woodward; and his siblings, James Woodward (Shirley) and Jane Markham (Darrel).

He is survived by: his children, Alice Olson (Martin), Timothy D. Woodward (Georgina), Donna L. Buska (Keith), David A. Woodward (Karen) and Michael Woodward (Mandy); his brothers, Lee (Betty) and Bruce Woodward (Shirley); and his friend John Carlstrom. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
