He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter and Dagmar; his children, Jamie Stuart and Melvin Lamar Jr.; his granddaughter Lauren Spodick; his sister Sue Soens; his son-in-law Paul Paricka; his brother Dave; and his sister-in-law Mary Soens.
He is survived by: his wife Nora Torosian Lamar; his children, Liz Wyma (Scot) of Racine, Ronald Soens Jr. of South Carolina, Linda Litrenta (Phil) of Racine and Eileen Widmar (John) of Racine; his stepchildren, Bruce Lamar (Sheryl) of Perm, MN, Craig Lamar of Paddock Lake, Gail Lamar-Paricka of Gulfport, MS, Lisa Spodick (Jim) of Racine, Jill Moebius (Rob) of Hartland, WI and Bobbie Jean Lamar of Brentwood, TN; his brother James Soens (Lynn) of Racine; and his caregivers, Sharon Tye and Melissa Branch. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
