He is survived by: his parents, Thomas Garbo and Karen Garbo; his sister Jennifer Shawhan (Jeffrey); his nieces and nephews, Nolan, Sullivan and Regan; his close friend John Matis; and his friend Peter Nys. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or one's favorite charity have been suggested.
