He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. and Catherine; his wife Nettie B. Anderson; and his siblings, Eugene Hunter, Willie Earl, Ruth Gray, Mattie Lee Roach and Franklin Hunter.
He is survived by: his children, JoAnn Hattix, Pamela Hunter, Rosalind "Rockey" Thomas, William Hunter (LaVetta) and Cheryl Nelson (Galen "Carlos"); his grandchildren, Jason, Jamaal, Taylor, Enous, Calen, Kristyn, Joseph, Tyus and Tyler; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Sr., Tela, Nijeria, Donovan, E'Shawn, Taylnn, Eniyah, La'Montae, Corianna and Brooklynn; his great great grandchild Elijah, Jr.; his sister Julia Walters; his sibling-in-law Ola Anderson; his nephew Phillip Anderson; his niece Catherine McKenzie; and his goddaughter Charnette B. Anderson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
