He is survived by: his parents, Roger Van Ornum and Cheryl Olsen (Paul); his wife Anita Van Ornum; his brother Keith Van Ornum (Pamela); his nieces, Rae Marie Miller (Justin) and Haley Mae; his nephew Maddox; his siblings-in-law, Robert "Bob" Gutjahr, Joe Crum (Mary), Gary Gutjahr (Lisa) and Theresa Serrano (John); and his nephew Paul Rew. He is also survived by cousins, nieces.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his honor.
