He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Zabel and Ruth Zabel (Kottke); and his parents-in-law, Bessie and William Miller. He is survived by: his wife Billie Sue of Oshkosh, WI; his children, Luana Short (Koller) and Ronie Zabel (Debbie); and his brothers, Wayne Zabel (Shar), Howard Zabel (Carol) and Dick Zabel (Marilyn). He is also survived by five grandchildren and six bonus grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his honor.
