He was predeceased by: his former wife Pearl Matyas (Wiberg); his daughter-in-law Karen Matyas (Jesberger); and his stepdaughter Gina Blakeslee. He is survived by: his wife Bernice Matyas (Fearing); his sister Helen; his children, Robert (Debra), Steven and Ann Marie; his stepchildren, Richard Blakeslee (Sue) and Susan Sherman (Doug); and his grandchildren, Robert, Meaghann, Emily, Eric and Jaye. He is also survived by five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
