We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2025, at the age of 87, Janet Gay Mittelsteadt of Rhinelander, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin Sommers and Cora Sommers (Asmundson); her former husband Lyle Gilman; her son Lyle; her son-in-law Larry Lukarich; and her siblings, Donna Mewhorter, Karen Cotttrell, Kay Zastrow, Coralee Sommers and Donald Sommers.
She is survived by: her husband James E. Mittelsteadt; her children, Charles Gilman (Gig), Toni Lukarich, Todd Gilman (Teress), Euqene Gilman (Caren) and Gary Gilman; her grandson James Gilman; her stepgrandchildren, Kevin Carlson (Megan) and Kari Larson (Paul); her pet Nugget; her stepchildren, Paula Deffner (Dave), Kim O'Reilly and Todd Mittelsteadt (Melissa); her sibling's children, Rick Zastrow, Steve Sommers and Lenore Blemke (Scott); and her brother-in-law Dave Mittelsteadt (Karen). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
