He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Sandberg and Audrey Sandberg (Bellile); his siblings, Terry Sandberg, Gary "Butch" Sandberg and Larry "Rowdy" Sandberg; and his grandson Jonathan Ottman.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Wiedeman; his sons, Joel Sandberg Jr. (Theresa Nordquist) and Chadd Sandberg; his grandchildren, Grace Nordquist and Cami Sandberg; and his brothers, Dennis "Sandy" Sandberg and Kim Sandberg (Ramona).
