She was predeceased by: her parents, Gustav Remus and Elise Remus; her husband Butch; her siblings-in-law, Alfred and Ruth Sommers; her sisters, Henny DeMeyer and Irma Langlois; and her son-in-law Mike Phillips.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Sommers, Mona Smith (Randy Witt), Sandi Sommers (Chris Malsavage), Lisa Hilgendorf (Art), Barb Perigo (Todd) and Tina Lis (Kurt); her grandchildren, Russ, Adam, Amy, Carrie, Steve, Rick, Lynn and Todd Jr.; her sister Katherine; and her siblings-in-law, Don Pecor and Delores "Tootie" Machel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
