We announce the death of Jay M. Baars (Rice Lake, Wisconsin), born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, who passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 78. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Baars and Amanda Baars (Perron); and his grandparents, Levinus, Anna Baars (Sala), William and Louisa Perron (Clarkson).
He is survived by: his wife Janice Kay (Bowen); his brother Clifford (Naomi); his children, Jay II (Nikki), Jerry (Minda), John (Nicole) and Jodi Baars; and his grandchildren, Nate, Bria (Aaron), Brandon, Amanda, Jack, Riley (Jorge), Chase, Colton (Kozette), Kyle, Lexi and Robert. He is also survived by family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grace Episcopal Church (119 W Humbird St, Rice Lake, WI 54868). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
