He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Coon and Beatirce Coon (Smothers); and his siblings, Gerald Coon, Richard Coon, Marie Sykes and Patrica Coon.

He is survived by : his wife Janet; his children, Cindy Shackleton (Tim), Ricky Coon (Regina), Larry Coon and Jerome Coon Jr. (Heidi); and his sisters, Bonnie Strenke, Sheila Erickson, Gail Daniels and Charlotte Romportal. He is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
