Carol J. Spangenberg Obituary
(nee Acker) Formerly of Richfield. Born to Eternal Life July 16, 2025 at the age of 92. Loving wife of the late Thomas. Loving mother of Steven (Cindy) and Scott (Peggy). Beloved grandmother of Thomas, Michael, Brandon and Derik and great-grandmother of Leila. Further survived by other family and friends. Preceded in death by her siblings Gene, David, Lois and Myron, Jr.
Above all, Carol cherished the time spent with her family, which brought her the greatest joy. She had a deep affection for animals and found joy in creative pursuits like baking, cooking, and painting, as well as in experiencing music and the arts. She lived a quiet grace, never loud, but always present—a steady light in both moments of joy and sorrow. Her heart, open and kind, left an imprint on all who knew her.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at The Cottages at Cedar Community for the compassionate care you gave Carol. We were truly touched by how many of you stopped by to check on her, comfort us, and say your goodbyes. Your kindness brought us peace during a very emotional time.
We also want to thank CommonHeart Home Health & Hospice for the exceptional support and care you provided in Carol's final days. Your compassion and guidance meant so much to all of us. Every kind word, gentle touch, and thoughtful gesture will always be remembered with appreciation.
