He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Slaney and Agnes Slaney; his wife Kathy Slaney; and his siblings, Doc, Robert and Mary Ann Scott.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Matteson (Alan), Cindy Feltman, Sue Hulberg (Jim) and Sally Gald (Scott); and his siblings, John "Jake", Joe (Eunice Ann) and Eldora. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren: and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Schmitt Woodland Hills, in honor of the compassionate care Gene received during his final years.
