He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael H. Bernath and Catherine B. Bernath (Heschel); and his siblings, Katherine Schindel, Marion Talma, Nicholas Bernath and Christina Schmuhl.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his children, Dawn Finley (Todd) of Ripon, Travis Bernath (Jamie) of Ashwaubenon and Angela Bernath of Ripon; his grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Alexis and Lillian; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Maverick and Mackenna of Ripon. He is also survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
