He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Robert Gray and Ruth Gray (Buchholz); his brothers, Bob Gray, Jr. (Gladys) and Jack Gray; and his sister-in-law Linda Boyer.
He is survived by: his children, Scott (Sheryl), John (Kathy), Jennifer Griffith (Kevin) and Sarah Novitske (Todd); his grandchildren, Kristin (Dennison), Alison (Clint), Thomas (Raeann), Patrick, Theresa (Ben), Anna, David (Gabriela), William, Jack, Sam (Emma), Luke (Angelina), Nate and Ellie; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Maddie, Asher, Hudson, Eleanor, Clara and Jack; and his in-laws, Shirley Gray, James, Joanne Sanderson and David Boyer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church (W3278 Co Rd K, Markesan, WI 53946). A burial was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Nepeuskun Cemetery.
He was mayor of Ripon from 1986-88 and served the community in many other ways including Jaycees, Rotary, the Board of Education, City Council, the Ripon Medical Center Board and Foundation, Ripon Historical Society, and delivering Meals on Wheels.
