He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Sauer and Arline Sauer (Steinberg); his daughter Rochelle Martinez; his brother Arden; his children-in-law, Mario Martinez and Cassandra Sauer; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Beth and Frank Garro.
He is survived by: his fiancée JoAnn Kalupa; his children, David, Jr. of Ripon, WI and Katherine Scott (Travis) of Wichita, KS; his grandchildren, Daniel Grindstaff, Michael, Brandon Martinez, Travis, Jr. and Kale Scott; his great grandchildren, Michelle, Thomas, Mikayla, Mia Grindstaff, Mario, Jr. and Miranda Martinez; and his sisters, Beverly Garro of Princeton, WI and Debra Parrish of Coupeville, WA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home (515 Mayparty Dr, Ripon, WI 54971). A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery (915 State St, Ripon, WI 54971).
