It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Loren J. Boone (Ripon, Wisconsin), born in Britton, South Dakota, who passed away at the age of 74, on May 4, 2024. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Gerrit, Jacoba Boone (Cleveringa), Harry and Pearl Swan (Farrington); his parents, James Boone and Gladys Boone (Swan); his brother Dennis Lee Boone; and his pets, Watson, Ceresco, Max and Lady Slipper.
He is survived by: his wife Deanna Knutson of Ripon; his brothers, Robert Boone (Norma) of Amherst, SD, Gerald Boone of Gulfport, MS and Kim Boone (Sally) of Albany, OR; his siblings-in-law, Duane Knutson of Brookings, SD and Doreen Hemish (Richard) of Canby, MN; his pet Miss Granite; his nephew Robert Boone; and his godfathers, T. J. Hitchman of Cedar Falls, IA, Tom Fishback (Amy Smith DeKanick) of Brookings, SD, Scott Smith (Gretchen Iverson) and Christopher Lyke of Austin, TX.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Rather, he asked to be remembered for those things he loved the most and for being a person who, until the pandemic, brought people together for fun and fellowship. That became more difficult as the pandemic eased and his health declined.
In lieu of flowers, memorials for Loren may be directed to SDSU Foundation, C.J. Delbridge Fund for SAE leadership development, the Loren J. and Deanna V. Boone Scholarship Fund for Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, or First Congregational Church of Ripon.
