He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Smith and Alice Smith; his daughter Pam; and his siblings, Harlan (Lefty), Ken (Butch), Pat and Amy.
He is survived by: his children, Bret (Michael), Bart (Patty), Patrice (Clint) of Granada, MN, Douglas (Beth) of Mankato, MN and Matt (Julie); his grandchildren, Eric, Tara, Genci, Nathan, Brandon, Dillon, Logan, Samantha, Cheyenne, Jackson, Chloe, Jacob, Matelyn and Jameson; his great grandchildren, Eric Jr., Emily, Destyni, Zion, Scarlett, Violette, Maisy, Briena, Dayvani, Carter, Gage and Xzavier; and his son-in-law Luke.
