She was predeceased by: her parents, Seth Speerstra and Irene Speerstra (Domke); her in-laws, Joseph and Katherine Gavin; and her siblings-in-law, Daniel Gavin, Karen Gavin and Diane Gavin.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald Gavin; her sons, Benjamin Gavin and Timothy Gavin (Sarah); her sister Judith Brosz (Tom); and her in-laws, Nancy Gavin, Tom Gavin (Karen), Jerry Gavin, Andrew Gavin and Eugene "Gene" Gavin. She is also survived by uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.
An example of Leah's love for her community is evidenced in her leadership of the Freeman Drug team to obtain and administer COVID vaccinations when the world was still quarantined.
Memorials preferred to the following organizations that meant something to Leah & her family: Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix County; Croix Valley Chordsmen; Ezekiel Lutheran Church Mission to Haiti; and Animal Ark Minnesota.
