He was predeceased by : his parents, Stephen John and Leona Preisler; his wife Diane; his brothers, Roger Preisler and Carl Preisler; and his parents-in-law, Marion Bredl and Eugene Bredl.

He is survived by : his daughter Mara (Doug Mashek); his grandchildren, Jenna and Sean; his daughter Elizabeth (Eric Runquist); his grandchildren, Owen and Crosby; his sister Mary Ann Nelson (Skip); his siblings-in-law, Patricia Preisler, Mary Preisler, Kathy Roesch (Tim), Tricia McCarthy (Terry) and Ronald Bredl (Alice); and his children, Exchange, Stefano Bernabino of Turin and Daniel Thull of Koblenz, Germany..
