As we bid Joan farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joan is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton J. Bender and Lula G. Bender (Feavel); and her husband Larry L. Matti. She is survived by: her children, Joan, Lori Speckhard (James), Todd Matti (Heather) and Lynn Keel; her grandsons, Jacob, Tony and Marcus Matti; and her siblings, Judy Oestreich (Terry) and Bucky Bender (Bonnie). She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews and their children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Florian Catholic Church-Hatley (500 Church Ln, Hatley, WI 54440). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
