He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Makela and Aili Makela (Jacobson); and his brother Ronnie. He is survived by: his wife Jane Shepley of Weston; his children, Ken Makela (Paula) of Mosinee, Mike Makela of Madison and Kari White of Leesburg, Florida.; his grandchildren, Nicholas White of Wausau, Aili Makela (Isaac Clemons) of Arlington, Eric Makela of Mosinee, Alexandra Mulholland of Leesburg, Florida. and Ashley Mulholland of Leesburg, Florida.; and his sister-in-law Sharon Makela of Superior. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
