He was predeceased by: his siblings, Betty Edwards (Robert), Robert Thelen (Joyce) and Fritz Thelen (Barb); his nephews, Michael Edwards, Doug Edwards and Guy Thelen; his niece Sara Noonan; and his brother Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Anne M Thelen; his daughter Ginny Ehlers (Brian); his granddaughters, Hannah (Joel Roberts) and Meghan Ehlers; his brother Richard Thelen (Kathy); and his brother-in-law Jim Hennes. He is also survived by numerous loving nephews and nieces.
Lloyd held the preservation of wetlands close to his heart and was "recognized for the unselfish dedication and significant contribution to waterfowl conservation" on several occasions.
