He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl and Evelyn (Yourston); his siblings, Warren Rouse, Carl Essen, Earnest Essen and Delores Dodge (Essen); and his siblings-in-law, Vicky Fredrickson (Hawkins), Lenore Essen, Virginia Essen, Roger Peterson, Martin Schwan, Ralph Hawkins, LaVerne Hawkins and Floyd Dodge.
He is survived by: his wife Vinita H. Essen; his children, Kevin Essen (Julie), Allen Essen (Gail) and Karilyn Doehling (Kevin); his grandchildren, Jamie Essen (Tony Peltier), Nate Essen, James Essen (Amber Zeeb), Allen Jr. Essen, Michelle Lohse (Ben), Britney Lonnee (Dominick) and Christopher Lundeen (Brittny); and his great grandchildren, Jamison Peltier, Christian Peltier, Alec Peltier, Zoey Essen, Matthew Essen, Michael Essen, Daniel Essen, Paisley Stemm, Austin Stemm, Rylie Lonnee, Bo Lonnee, Luke Lundeen, Olivia Lundeen, Katie Grawey, Tyler Grawey and Anna Grawey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Alliance Church (1259 WI-35, St Croix Falls, WI 54024). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Alliance Church of the Valley in St. Croix Falls, WI.
