He was predeceased by: his parents, George N. Brooks and Maxine Brooks (Dimmitt); his brother Mike Brooks; his brother-in-law Ralph Young; and his nephews, Chad Young and Clayton Young.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Brooks; his children, Adam Brooks (Kathy) of Plano, IL and Amy Brooks of Aurora, IL; his grandchildren, Skylar Brooks of Lake Lotawana, MO, Kelsey Wheaton (Mathew) of Cape Coral, FL and Jacob Brooks of Hinsdale, IL; and his siblings, Jeanette Young of Wilmot, WI, Don Brooks of Mexico, MO, Edward Brooks of Mexico, MO, Steve Brooks of Centralia, MO, Dean Brooks of Athens, AL, Richard Brooks of Jonesboro, AR and Patrick Brooks (Karen) of Libertyville, IL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the East Lawn Memorial Park (2415 E Liberty St, Mexico, MO 65265).
