He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfonse Bertram and Juliana Bertram (Wettstein); his brothers, Norm and John Bertram; his father-in-law David Skrzypchak; and his brother-in-law Todd Koch.

He is survived by: his wife Carla Bertram; his children, Jacklyn Van Nortwick (Peter) and Vince Bertram (Amy); his grandsons, Jack and Benjamin Bertram; his sisters, Kathy Schumacher (Joe) and Ruth Schumacher (Eric); his mother-in-law Donna Skrzypchak; and his sisters-in-law, Sue Bertram and Candice Koch-Wetzel. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
