He was predeceased by: his parents, Prentice Niles and Olive Niles (Farnham); his wife Merriel Thiede; and his children, Lori Niles, Brenda Niles, Scott Niles and Sara Rasmussen.

He is survived by: his son Jeff Niles (Christine); his grandchildren, Jesse Linde, Cody Linde, Kyle Niles (Angelina), Zach Niles, James Von Deck, Walker Rasmussen, Logan Niles, Lorella Von Deck and Emily Zimmerman (Mason); and his daughter-in-law Tina Niles. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
