He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Hintz and Constance Birkholz; his stepparents, Vern Birkholz and Grace Hintz; and his parents-in-law, Lloyd and Rosemary Koeller.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Hintz; his children, Jennifer Mentzel (Shane), Corey Hintz, Amy Hintz and Heidi Burris (David); and his siblings, Pete Hintz (Lori) and Mary Laude (Ron). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Swedberg Funeral Home-Shawano (518 W 5th St, Shawano, WI 54166). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
