He was predeceased by : his parents, William Brandt and Lena Brandt (Kuehmichel); his siblings, Arthur Brandt, Lena Brandt, Louise Fredrickson, Theodore Brandt, Willie Brandt, Adelia Hilliker, Albert Brandt, Walter Brandt, Esther Oelhafen, Harvey Brandt and James Brandt; and his sister-in-law Lorraine Maurer.

He is survived by : his nephews, Roland Hilliker (Jean Drage), Charles Brandt, Brian Brandt (Carrie Westphal) and Meredith Seidl (Amy Nordlee).
